our story

Rooted in Experience, Inspired by Family

Our founder, Maya, was inspired to create The Digital Aging Initiative through her experience helping a loved one with early-onset dementia navigate technology.

She saw how frustrating digital tools can be when instructions are confusing or interfaces feel overwhelming. More importantly, she understood how isolating it can feel when older adults struggle to stay connected, and how empowering it is when someone feels seen, supported, and capable. Learning technology became not just about skills, but about confidence, connection, and the joy of staying engaged with the world.

Maya brings years of experience building safe and trustworthy online communities at tech startups and companies like Google, Facebook, and Udemy.

She developed policies for user interaction, investigated problematic accounts, removed harmful content, and ensured users could navigate digital spaces safely.

That expertise is embedded in every lesson, workshop, and one-on-one session, so seniors can learn technology confidently and securely.

Today, the Digital Aging Initiative provides older adults all over the New York City area with patient, personalized guidance, empowering them to navigate technology safely and stay connected to what matters most.
